JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER CREW
The 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships will take place on the 10th and 11th of October in Nannup and the beautiful Blackwood Valley, in the heart of South West Western Australia. It will be an unforgettable gravel cycling weekend for everyone involved.
To help us deliver a top quality event, we are looking for individuals, clubs, groups and associations to join our Volunteer Crew. You will work alongside our amazing Ride WA Crew, one of the most experienced, skilled and welcoming event teams in the country.
We have volunteer roles open in the following areas:
Anything & Anywhere
You’re happy to help wherever we need you!
Event set up and take down (infrastructure)
Help with setting up and taking down various event zones. You’ll get an exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at the Gravel World Championships
Course Marshal (Feed/Fan Zones and on course)
Marshals in our Feed Zones provide riders with drinks, snacks and encouragement during the race, and help ensure these zones run smoothly and safely. Your effort will literally fuel the riders! Marshals in our Fan Zones ensure that spectators stay inside their boundaries so that the riders remain safe from obstructions. Your effort will keep our spectators safe and happy. Marshals out on course help to protect our riders and are our eyes and ears on the ground.
Race Village Marshal (start/finish straight and village)
Village Marshals ensure that all riders and spectators remain safe when they are moving through the Race Village. You will be essential to ensuring that riders can compete and spectators can watch without interruptions.
Parking Marshal
Parking Marshals guide visitors smoothly and safely through the parking areas, ensuring good traffic flow. You will be essential to ensuring that riders make it to the start line on time!
Event Guide (welcoming and guiding)
Event Guides know what’s going on across the entire event. They welcome visitors, answer questions, and direct spectators and riders to where they want to go. You will be contributing to an amazing atmosphere!
Clean & Green Team Member
One of our most important roles, because an event can live or die according to the quality of the environment. Help us create a sustainable World Championships that WA can be proud of. You’ll be helping to keep the event zones clean and reduce waste in the Event Village and across our stunning course.
Registration Steward
Registration Stewards welcome the riders and assist in distributing race packs. You’ll be the riders’ first point of contact, ensuring a smooth and friendly start to their experience.
Moto-Scout
Our Moto-Scouts are an elite team of off-road motorcycle riders who protect the boundary of the course from ‘outside intruders’. They also escort emergency vehicles onto and off the course, and help to redirect traffic away from the course and onto the detour roads. You will be helping us to maintain a ‘shield wall’ around our riders. (Having your own off-road motorcycle is essential.)
First Aid Assistance
If you have first aid or medical qualifications, and would like to volunteer your expertise, we’d love to have you on the team!
Workforce Catering
An army marches on its stomach! If you love ‘feeding the troops’, this is a role for you.
